Videogrammetry (also sometimes called photogrammetry) is the assessing the dimensions of an object in an image, often the height of a suspect.
Here's a typical image of someone. Often what is required is to know the height of an individual. You could take a guess at it from the height of the door frame - but will that stand up in Court as a reliable measurement? This room in fact, has a lower than normal ceiling and proportionally smaller doors.
To determine the height of a person we take 3 dimensional measurements of known fixed points (indicated by the red lines and dots) and calculate the height using advanced software algorithms.
